I received my medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1986, completed the Anatomical Pathology Residency Program also at the University of Toronto and started my career at the Toronto General Hospital. I completed my Head and Neck Pathology Fellowship with Dr. Leon Barnes in Pittsburgh, UPMC in 1995 and thereafter continued as a Head and Neck Pathologist at the University Health Network. I then moved to the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, where I currently practice. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto and a clinician-scientist who collaborates with the Head and Neck/Thyroid Research Program at MSH. My primary focus is on the discovery of predictive biomarkers and utilization of molecular testing to advance diagnosis in thyroid cytology and cancers of the thyroid and head & neck.
