Hernán González

  • Hernán González, MD, PhD. is an Associate Professor and Research Director at the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. He obtained his MD and PhD at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and performed his clinical fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research has been focused on novel proprietary cutting edge bioinformatics and genomics where he is currently leading two muti-institutional clinical validity trials for a new in vitro diagnostic thyroid genetic classifier for indeterminate thyroid nodules developed in his laboratory. He has an active clinical practice in the surgical treatment of patients with thyroid cancer, with extensive experience in the management of locally advanced and recurrent thyroid cancer.
