Dr Matthew Magarey is an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon specialising in Head and Neck cancer. He has expert training and experience in all aspects of head and neck cancer, including throat cancer, advanced skin cancer and cancer of the Thyroid and Salivary glands. Dr Magarey’s focus is on maintaining function and quality of life for patients he treats with head and neck cancer, through modern operative techniques and close collaboration with talented reconstructive surgeons.
Dr Magarey completed his surgical training in Melbourne, and then undertook post-fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology in Toronto, Canada. He also completed training in Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) in Philadelphia, USA.
Dr Magarey has a number of publications, and has presented both within Australia, and internationally on Surgical Management of Thyroid Cancer. He is a senior member of the Thyroid Surgery team at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia’s only public hospital dedicated to cancer care.
