WCTC Mission Statement on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

The World Congress on Thyroid Cancer (WCTC) recognizes as self-evident that we can most effectively educate ourselves and our colleagues about the best care of patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer when all relevant voices – including those of minority, disadvantaged and marginalized individuals – are heard and recognized. For this reason, we are committed to making the World Congress as welcoming as possible to members of all marginalized groups. We support cultural equity for all attendees and faculty, regardless of ethnicity, age, religion, disability, race, gender, sexual orientation, or any other individual or group identity. We will seek to prioritize attendance and program contributions from underrepresented groups in the World Congress. Furthermore, our Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will measure, analyze and report the effects of our actions regarding inclusive programming, cultural competence, and recognition of contributions from underrepresented groups. Through these means, we will strive to create a culture of access for all individuals, allowing those of all backgrounds and identities to feel welcomed and engaged in the World Congress.

    WCTC Mission Statement

The mission of the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer is to:

    • Develop a collegial multidisciplinary global platform for all specialists for the discussion on the diagnosis, and treatment of thyroid cancer
    • Create an environment to stimulate research in the field of thyroid oncology
    • Build the groundwork for future direction in the management and research in thyroid cancer
    • Foster camaraderie and build relationships to develop opportunities amongst all professional colleagues for exchange of information and experiences as well as research findings

To fulfil our mission the World Congress of Thyroid Cancer Inc. is committed to respect diversity and foster an environment of inclusivity regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, cultural heritage, nationality, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, veteran, or ability status.

All members of World Congress of Thyroid Cancer Inc. feel responsible to uphold these values.
