Dana Hartl


Dana Hartl heads thyroid surgery at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Center. Her fields of expertise include thyroid and head and neck cancer and laryngology. She has extensive experience in reoperative surgery, robotic surgery, and locally invasive cancers. She is the principal investigator in an academically-funded multicenter phase III randomized clinical trial in thyroid surgery, evaluating the role of prophylactic neck dissection. Other areas of clinical research include intraoperative fluorescence imaging and neoadjuvant therapies. She is co-author of over 170 peer-reviewed publications and 30 book chapters. With her collaborators she organizes annual hands-on teaching and live surgery seminars at Gustave Roussy, and participates in the university and post-university graduate programs of the Paris Univerisites. She is a member of the European Thyroid Association, the Amercian Head and Neck Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, the American Laryngological Association, the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and the Asia Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery.
