Matthew Taylor, MD, is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of advanced thyroid cancer and melanoma. Dr Taylor currently practices at the Providence Cancer Institute Franz Clinic at the Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR, and conducts research in the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute, a division of Providence Cancer Institute. His extensive research is focused on the development of new therapies for patients with advanced cancers and the study of the mechanisms of tumor immune evasion, and his research results have appeared in over 40 publications. Dr Taylor earned his medical degree from the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at OHSU. Dr Taylor serves as a consultant for many pharmaceutical companies as an advisory board member.
