Dr. Angela Leung is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She received her M.D. from the Boston University School of Medicine and M.Sc. in epidemiology from the Boston University School of Public Health, and completed her internal medicine residency and endocrine fellowship at Boston Medical Center. Her clinical interests are in thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer. Her research is funded by the NIH Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development studying iodine nutrition and thyroid disease during pregnancy and lactation. She has published over 60 articles, reviews, book chapters, and editorials regarding iodine nutrition, thyroid dysfunction, environmental thyroid disruptors, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer. She is past chair of the Public Health Committee of the American Thyroid Association and is on the editorial board of Endocrine Practice, Clinical Thyroidology, and the Journal of Clinical and Translational Endocrinology.
