Bryan McIver MD PhD is an Academic Endocrinologist, with a strong background in thyroid cancer and thyroid nodules, including both clinical and research interests in these areas.
A renowned clinician, respected educator and widely published researcher, Dr McIver was, until recently, a Consultant in Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and Chair of the Mayo Clinic Thyroid Group. He will be commencing his new appointments, as Program Leader in Endocrine Malignancy, at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Professor of Endocrinology at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, FL, in May 2013.
Born and raised in Scotland, he received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh and his PhD in Biophysics from the University of Vermont.
Following Residency training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh he completed Fellowship in Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic and joined the Mayo staff in 1998. He participated in the ATA Guidelines writing committee for the 2006 and 2009 editions and is a charter member of the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer Organizing Committee.
