Mark Urken's presentations
Dr Mark Urken received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine after graduating summa cum laude from Williams College.
Trained in otolaryngology head & neck surgery and fellowship trained in microsurgery, Dr Urken was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1994 and served as Chairman of the Dept of Otolaryngology at Mt Sinai from 1995-2004. He is currently Professor of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai.
He has published over 250 articles, 25 chapters on topics in head and neck as well as thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and 3 textbooks on head and neck reconstruction. In addition, he is the founder and medical director of the Thanc foundation. He has lectured throughout the world on topics related to head and neck cancer, head and neck reconstruction, thyroid cancer and thyroid surgery.
