Maurizio Iacobone, MD, is head of the Endocrine Surgery Unit at the Padua University Hospital (Italy); he is Associate Professor of Surgery at Padua University Medical School (Italy). He was trained in General Surgery at University of Bari (Italy); he completed the Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the Marseilles University Hospital (France), under the guidance of Prof JF Henry. He is Fellow of the European Board of Surgery – Endocrine Surgery Section (FEBS); he obtained then Diploma in Endocrine and Metabolic Surgery at Lyon University (France). Currently he is Vice-President of the Francophone Association of Endocrine Surgery (AFCE), Vice-President of the Italian Unitary Society of Endocrine Surgeons (SIUEC) and Secretary of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES). He published in multiple peer reviewed journals. He performed more than 4000 endocrine surgery procedures, mainly focusing on thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery.
