Professor of Endocrine Surgical Oncology
After my Med School in Leiden, The Netherlands, I got my PhD and surgical training at the University Medical Center in Utrecht. During my fellowship for the Dutch Cancer Society I spent 3 months in Chicago to increase my robotic skills, 3 months in Kiev to operate on complex thyroid cancer cases (including Tsjernobyl survivors) and 1.5 years in San Francisco to do translational research on thyroid cancer, next to my clinical work. Nowadays I have an endocrine surgical practice across the full breadth. Including both complex, familial and pediatric thyroid cases. My research focusses on minimal invasive surgery and MEN syndromes.
